Building Bridges to Tomorrow: Innovation in the Transition from Child and Adolescent to Adult Mental Health Care

On 12 June 2026, the YOUTHreach interventions were featured at the symposium “Building Bridges to Tomorrow: Innovation in the Transition from Child and Adolescent to Adult Mental Health Care” in Maastricht, organized by the Top Clinical Centre for Transition Psychiatry at Mondriaan.
The symposium focused on transdiagnostic approaches to supporting young people aged 16–25 during the critical transition from youth to adult mental health services. Researchers, clinicians, and experts by experience came together to explore innovative interventions that can improve outcomes for young people. Three YOUTHreach interventions were presented:

The Long-Term Effects of ENYOY: A Digital Intervention for Promoting Mental Health in Young People
Esmee Otten and Fenna Hellegers highlighted the sustained impact of the MOST platform (called ENYOY in the Netherlands) in supporting young people’s mental well-being through digital innovation.

Improving Self-Image with an App in Everyday Life: Results and Future Directions of the SELFIE Intervention
Anouk Boonstra and Zjulie Rutten shared findings on how daily mobile support can help young people strengthen their self-image and mental health.

@ease: A Safe Place for Every Story
Casper Crombach, Deniece Clermonts & Francis Houben showcased how @ease provides accessible, youth-friendly support and a safe space where young people can talk openly about their concerns.

A big thank you to the Top Clinical Centre for Transition Psychiatry at Mondriaan for hosting this inspiring event and creating opportunities to connect research, practice, and lived experience in support of better mental health care for young people.
