Stakeholder Engagement Groups
YOUTHreach is built on meaningful collaboration. To ensure our work is inclusive, ethical, and grounded in real-world needs, we have established dedicated stakeholder engagement groups.
Each group brings together diverse expertise and lived experience to guide the project from multiple perspectives. Together, they help us design, evaluate, and implement youth-friendly mental health interventions across Europe. The following groups are involved in our project:
Youth Advisory Group (YAG)
In partnership with the University of Birmingham, YOUTHreach has established a framework that ensures regular involvement of a recruited Youth Advisory Group (YAG). This group plays a central role in shaping YOUTHreach.
They define youth needs and preferences, co-design outcome measures, and act as co-researchers and communicators. Their lived experience and creativity ensure the project remains genuinely youth-centred.
Mental Healthcare Advisory Group (MAG)
The MAG brings together mental health professionals and key supporters in young people’s lives (psychiatrists, psychologists, educators, social carers, healthcare managers and parents) alongside youth representatives from the YAG.
This group focuses on mapping and defining the most effective care and referral pathways for the three interventions being evaluated.
HTA Advisory Group (HAG)
The HAG includes health economists, policymakers, municipal representatives, educators, healthcare professionals, and members of the YAG.
Their work centres on the feasibility, resource use, and wider system impact of the interventions. They also develop recommendations and policy options to support future implementation across Europe.
Social Sciences & Humanities Advisory Group (SAG)
The SAG is composed of ethicists, social scientists, and healthcare professionals, again working in partnership with youth representatives.
This group identifies youth-centred ethical considerations, ensuring that issues such as autonomy, privacy and responsible data use are prioritised throughout the project.
Data Advisory Group (DAG)
The DAG includes Data Protection Officers, data and IT managers, clinical researchers, and AI developers. Their role is to guarantee legal, ethical, and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data practices.
They help strengthen the quality and long-term value of the data generated through YOUTHreach.
