YAG Update #3

Learn more about the work of the YAG in the last few months.

In February 2026 our Youth Advisory Group (YAG) came together for an informative and inspiring session, full of learning, reflection, and co-creation across Europe. On the agenda:

Walk-in centres: Fidelity Scales & Delphi Studies

We were joined by Jule Leickert, who introduced us to fidelity scales and Delphi studies through engaging, real-world examples (including the quest for Casper’s perfect cupcake 🧁). We explored how a Delphi study will be used to co-develop a multi-perspective fidelity scale for walk-in centres, and how young people can meaningfully contribute to shaping what a “good” walk-in centre looks like in practice.

Learning from Europe

Nordic Headspace Conference (Copenhagen): Isaac and Sophia shared insights from the conference, including visiting headspace Lyngby, learning how accessibility (e.g., centres near train stations) is being prioritised across Nordic countries, and interviewing the former Danish prime minister and founder of headspace Denmark!

Barcelona Annual Consortium Meeting

Several YAG members reflected on delivering a youth-led session to the consortium and celebrated the journey of the YAG since its launch in March 2025, with plenty to be proud of and even more to look forward to in 2026.

Messages of Hope

Sophia also shared an interactive Padlet featuring “Messages of Hope” from YOUTHreach partners across Europe, and as far as Australia and Canada, written in native languages to reflect the diversity of our consortium.

Co-Created Outcome Measure

Dr Rebekah Amos provided an update on how youth feedback from cognitive interviews is shaping the outcome measure, alongside quantitative analysis exploring what we’re really measuring, how items cluster, and how we can reduce burden while keeping meaning, including a thoughtful discussion on which items best measure sleep.

Intervention 2 (SELFIE): Youth Participation in Research

We discussed what motivates minors to take part in research when financial incentives aren’t possible, sharing reflections on fairness, accessibility, and age-appropriate recognition.

Looking Ahead: Regional YAGs

Finally, we explored the idea of creating regional or national YAGs in local languages to strengthen inclusion, cultural relevance, and two-way learning, alongside honest discussion of challenges and structure.

A huge thank you to all YAG members and contributors for your insight, openness, and commitment!
